Goats are in need of rescuing just like any other animal-the only difference is people regard them as disposable livestock.

We used to take in goats that were in need and then find them homes-we no longer do this due to our 2 senior Pygmies getting stressed out by having others on the property-they developed all sorts of infections and hair loss by being stressed. Once they have passed on we will most likely open our gates to more goats!

Gilbert was a funny man brought to us because his owner wanted a goat as a pet but developed medical issues soon after she got him-she was no longer able to care for him. We think he was an AlpineX-we called him the awkward gazelle-he was all legs. A super affectionate goat that didn't really know what being a goat was all about! When he first came here he was picked on by our senior Pygmy doe-a reall witch with most animals! Gilbert was in shock at this pint sized, fat girl beating him up! He was adopted to a girl in Victoria that adored him-he lived with her horses, she put sweaters on him in the winter and took him for walks-he has since moved onto another home with horses.

Andi came to us when Sabrina answered an ad in the paper reading "Pygmy goat for free-if you can catch him you can have him" We thought we should check it out-it turns out a wonderful family had a few Pygmies as pets and ever since they got Andi he was skittish. We literally had to catch him! Even after a long stay here he was terrified of people-we thought he would end up living out his days here-who would want a skittish goat? He was adopted by the same family that 2 of our dogs went to. He even got into their house soon after adoption, slept on the couch with their new dogs and watched TV! What a guy!

We didn't get many photos of Andi due to him being so aloof

These two were dumped on a lady and she needed to find a home for them-they came here for a SHORT stay because the were fence jumpers. Other than this issue they were very sweet girls but we could not have them outside of any pen with dogs around, plants/flowers that they could eat and you can never trust goats around vehicles either! Unfortunely before we found them a home they had to be sent back to the lady. They were content to stay in her pen with her goats. She found them a home shortly after.

These photos show them 'hanging' out with us (whether we liked it or not!) & the last one is back at the farm they were content at!
